Overview

Harvard Innovation Labs’ President’s Innovation Challenge (PIC) is venture competition for Harvard students and select Harvard alumni. This event is a touchstone event for the Harvard Innovation Labs and its members, offering an opportunity for a slice of $515,000 in funding for their start-up.

This project is full-fledged event design and direction for both streaming and in-person attendance. There’s a pre-event campaign comprised of various digital assets (digital displays, email, social) and event design for the run of the show: transition animations, title cards, winning moments,  and probably some other pieces to the complicated, but very fun to design, puzzle.






The System

The PIC is built on a three-act narrative that guides staff and members throughout the application, selection, and winning process.

For the 2022 show, the acts were categorized by color, and the larger system was built on a deconstructed universe based on letterforms from the event’s name.









Social

Social cards leveraged the look and feel of the letterforms but brought into the icons that concided with each track.







Stage

The stage design was built on the  deconstructed letterforms, color, and iconography.
